Tiger Talk – December 9, 2021 – Volume 27: Issue 51

Principal’s Message

“Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word.” This is the response of the Blessed Mother to the angel Gabriel in the Gospel for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception celebrated on Wednesday, December 8. Mary received this news unexpectedly and through doubt and fear came to say “yes” to God to be the mother of Jesus. This is the same Gospel that is used on the Solemnity of the Annunciation on March 25; 9 months before the celebration of Christmas. Mary traversed the 9 months as a servant of God. Even as a teenager, she said the ultimate Amen to God and is the model of discipleship for all of us, young and old, living today. As we move into the second part of Advent, may we all say yes to god and open our hearts to doing the will of the one who made us! Peace always.

~Vince Aquila

“Advent is a time for waiting for our Lord, who will visit us all in our own hearts. The Lord is coming! Let us wait for Him!” – Pope Francis
